Homo Haia Homework Hub
Where Pacific Culture Meets Academic Excellence in the Bay of Plenty
Welcome to Homo Haia Homework Hub
Welcome to Homo Haia Homework Hub (HHHH), a dynamic academic support programme designed specifically for NCEA students in the Bay of Plenty. Our unique approach combines rigorous academic assistance with the rich traditions of Pacific culture to create a supportive and inclusive environment. Whether you are seeking personalised one-on-one talanoa sessions or collaborative small-group learning, HHHH is where cultural heritage and academic success come together.
At our five participating colleges—including Tauranga Boys’ College, Tauranga Girls’ College, Mt Maunganui, Te Puke College, and Katikati College—students and educators meet weekly during terms 2, 3, and 4. Here, dedicated subject teachers guide learners with expertise and enthusiasm, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to achieve excellence in their studies while celebrating Pacific values and traditions.

Programme Details and Benefits
Homo Haia Homework Hub is a 22-week academic adventure that fuses curriculum support with cultural enrichment. Our programme is thoughtfully structured to help students excel in their NCEA assessments and beyond, offering:
- Personalised Academic Guidance: Tailored one-on-one tutoring and small-group sessions designed to address individual learning needs.
- Cultural Enrichment: Engaging activities that include learning traditional Pacific prayers, hymns, and songs, along with opportunities to showcase these talents within the school community.
- Community Celebration: A memorable finale where students share delicious kai (food) and celebrate their hard-earned achievements together.
By merging academic rigour with cultural celebration, HHHH ensures that every student not only reaches their full academic potential but also builds a strong sense of cultural pride and belonging.
