Pasifika in The Bay Trust Proudly Supports NZEI Te Riu Roa Pasifika Fono 2025 – “Takanga ‘Enau Fohe’ – Strength in Unity”
Talofa lava, Kia orana, Malo e lelei, Fakalofa lahi atu, Ni sa bula vinaka, and warm Pacific greetings to all!
Pasifika In The Bay Trust is thrilled to announce that Alva and Mel will be presenting at the upcoming NZEI Te Riu Roa Pasifika Fono 2025.
Held at the world-renowned Te Papa Museum, Wellington, on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 April, this year’s Fono is themed “Takanga ‘Enau Fohe” – Strength in Unity. It’s a powerful guiding principle that reminds us of the collective strength we possess when we move together, just like the Kalia, our traditional ocean-going canoe, stands out when its rowers are in perfect sync.
Working together, supporting each other, and moving in harmony towards our shared goals, we ensure our educational journey is not just successful but transformative for every member of our community. The Fono is going to be a celebration of this unity, as well as an occasion to learn, share, and grow together.
For those planning to join us, here’s everything you need to know:

It’s a chance for us to honour our traditions while embracing the future. We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate our culture, our children, and our collective journey towards educational success.
Let’s stand together, row in sync, and let our community shine brightly like the Kalia upon the vast ocean. Looking forward to seeing you at the Fono!
Fa’afetai tele lava (thank you very much)!
