Pasifika Festival in the Bay
We would like to share some important updates regarding the newly implemented ticketing process for this year’s Pasifika Festival in the Bay.
As we’re sure many of you will appreciate, a festival of this scale requires significant cost to run. Everything from portaloos to picnic seating, to marquees and the actual stage itself costs money to hire. While the Pasifika in the Bay Trust has previously been able to secure community grants some years to support the running costs of the festival, this is not always guaranteed nor possible.
To help ensure the festival remains sustainable for years to come, we have made the tough but necessary decision to implement a small ticketing fee payable by guests/spectators at this year’s festival. While new to our festival this year, tickets are already a common feature of many other community festivals as a way of supporting their own infrastructure (including the famous PolyFest up in Auckland).
Tickets WILL NOT be required for members of performing groups including on stage performers, their supporting musicians, helpers/dressers, or stallholders.

Here is a breakdown of the pricing:
ONLINE
Youth (6-24 years) – $7
Adult (25-64 years) – $10
Family (2 adults + 3 children/youth) – $30
AT THE GATE
Youth (6-24 years) – $10
Adult (25-64 years) – $15
Family (2 adults + 3 children/youth) – $40
Under 5s and seniors 65+ remain FREE.
